Here at the Academy, we are warm friendly and accommodating for your training needs. We have many courses both blended and classroom based. We also have over 200 eLearning courses which are accessed with the push of a button. You can find out about our courses by following the link www.skat.uk.com

The Training we over can be divided into 3 areas. First Aid, Mental Health and eLearning.

Our First Aid applies to Adults, Paediatric both child and infant and last but certainly not least is our Pets first Aid training.

Adult first aid covers numerous categories for example First Aid at Work a certification required by law. Depending on how your company set up we also offer Appointed persons First Aid at work. We have many variants of First Aid courses which apply to specific business, work places and organisations. For example, we cover the Construction industry, all office-based businesses, schools, dentists, gyms, Sports, Care homes, outdoor pursuits, Hair and beauty salons etc.

Paediatric First Aid is something close to our hearts, as not only do we train nurseries and pre schools we also train our own staff who within the supply and recruitment side of the business. Paediatric First Aid is an extremely specific course which delivers training to deal with situations for infants up to puberty. This qualification mainly applies to Nursery and preschool workers, but can be adapted for Au pairs, Nannies and other professions working with children.

The above courses are generally 12hrs in length which can be completed by the blended method which we recommend. Blended means that the first 6 hours is via series of videos and once complete the course is concluded with 6 hours in a covid safe classroom.

First Aid courses already mentioned above have various topics. We also deliver segments of the courses above. For example, how to use an AED is part of the courses but is a qualification itself and can be taught over 2 hours.  Basic life support and CPR are other examples of more specific courses for various professions.

Our last First Aid section is Pets First Aid. I always say you think you know your dog; I guarantee you will know your dog and cat more if you complete this course. This course does not train you as a Vet, however it could certainly save you an unnecessary and expensive visit to the vet. Dogs especially are prone to injuring themselves, but if there simply feeling under the weather and you can take your dog’s vital signs and find they are normal this will be hugely beneficial for a vet. I had a close potential drowning incident which I would of have had to deliver CDR. Fortunately the situation did not come to that but as an instructor I was certainly comforted knowing I could deliver CPR and potentially save my dogs life. We have differing levels of the course depending on the level you require; you may want to complete the course for your own animals. Or you could select the advance level if you require the qualification professionally. Check our website and find out more. www.skat.uk.com.

Mental Health is becoming more prevalent in our lives more each day. We offer Mental Health training and awareness at 3 levels. Our courses are online. Level 1 Mental Health in the workplace explains how to identify signs and symptoms and sign post whoever you may be concerned about. This level 1 entry course is just over 1hrs of video.
